Ready to Change

I have been visiting this site for a few months now. I have been inspired by much of what I read and feel I am now ready to make a leap of faith.

I have looked at all kinds of different diets and for me the best kind is the kind that is pretty structured. I have only ever lost a significant amount of weight once before. That was in 1994-95 when I lost 90 lbs. I did it just be watching what I ate and I also had a personal trainer that kept me going.

I turned forty and had a surprise (BIG SURPRISE) pregnancy. Well, that was it, I gained sixty pounds back and somewhere over the last fourteen years I have gained even more.
I am fifty five in a couple months and I want to be healthy again. I don't need to be uber thin, I just want to feel better. I want more energy:carrot:
I did consider weight loss surgery but I attended a seminar last week came to the conclusion that that is not for me! I love to cook and eat and I just need to find a way to work that into a healthy lifestyle! For now though, baking is out the window.:dizzy:

I think that ATkins may be the change for me so that is what I am focusing on. I am going to begin the induction phase tomorrow. Grocery shopping this afternoon..
I have three grown children who live fairly close by and my last child is still at home. He is an amazing kid and I know he will be a wonderful support for me.

I feel like I am beginning a wonderful journey.
