Hi!
I'm trying to lose about 70 lbs that I have packed on with my three pregnancies. My youngest is going to be 5 in about two weeks, and I'm still struggling mainly because of stress/emotional eating.
I have a lot of reasons to lose the weight and not one to keep all these extra pounds around (especially the tummy :). First, I want to be healthy. I want to be able to do the things that I used to do. Second, I don't want to be the fat mom and teacher anymore. Ugh. Third (and possibly the main reason right now), my mother has had to deal with the early deaths of two of her children due to cancer, and at this point, I can't have her worrying about me. I've been going it alone since September with little results. I lost about 15 lbs but gained most of it back during Christmas. My plan is to: keep posting here (I hope I don't start irritating people) for accountability and support; stop sitting on the couch and GET UP AND MOVE; and, finally, to join/buy Calorie King and start EATING RIGHT. This was way longer than I was planning, and I hope I haven't irritated anyone already because I am really looking forward to this new adventure. Thanks for listening! -Michele |

I'm back!
I've been back and forth, trying to lose weight. I'm a teacher and I thought I would wait until the summer to try again. This is my second day of summer vacation, and I'm hoping that I can lose 25 to 30 lbs before school starts again. I spend most of my time during the school year trying to keep up, so I thought that if I could focus on my health during the summer I could get myself into some good habits before school started again. So, I'm starting again... |
