Well, hello there!

Hi! This is the first time I've posted on here, but I have been reading threads off and on for the past couple of months. I'm sure you guys are flooded with new users, but hopefully you won't mind one more. :^: I've never really turned to an online community for dieting support before, so I'm hoping this will add a new spark of motivation and accountability. I get so inspired by just looking at the people who've reached their goals!

So me in a nut shell: I've always been about 220, but recently I've gained 50+ pounds due to a few problems that I've encountered. Lately I've been struggling with panic attacks and social anxiety. Sometimes it's even hard to be sociable online, which is probably why it took me so long to sign up! Anyway...in high school I got down to about 170, but slowly crept back up in the 220's after about 2 years of maintaining. That weight loss was thanks to the Atkins diet, but this time I'm just interested in just changing my bad habits, nothing gimmicky. Good ol' fashioned calorie counting and exercise.

 Luckily my husband is on board with me and trying to drop about 80 pounds himself. He got an Xbox Kinect for christmas, so we bought a workout game called Your Shape: Fitness Evolved and are using that to get started on the exercise. (Which, by the way, is totally kicking our butts! I'm pleasantly surprised.) We're also going for a brisk 45 minute walk in the mornings with our doggie.

Hopefully it will all pay off in the end!

That Xbox game sounds like fun -- I keep meaning to buy Wii Fit, and keep forgetting.

Hey there! :wel3fc:

There's a great thread for people using video games to work out in the exercise forum. You might want to check that out, as well as any of our other forums by age range, amount to lose, plan...lots of places to explore.

Can't wait to get to know you better!
