Started over for the last time!

Hi! I'm Jen and yes I've been here before, more than once but I have decided this time is the last time I fight this battle! Right after thanksgiving I decided enough was enough. I gave up drinking sodas, started counting calories, and exercising. Six weeks later I am down 26 pounds and doing Tae Bo for an hour everyday. I haven't set a definate goal yet but I will when I see my doc at the end of the month. I am thinking somewhere between 140-150. I'm just looking for motivation, accountability, and a kick in the butt when I cheat! I am ready to rock it this time!

Jen: I'm with you! This is the time we get it right! Sounds like you're off to an impressive start. I'm starting again.. for the last time. Keep us posted on your progress. Do you miss the soda now that you're in six weeks? That's been my struggle - well, that and starting to exercise again. Good luck!

Welcome back Jen.

A good start can be very encouraging. Stick with us. We're glad you're here.

Thanks for the welcome!

BunnyD-really I don't miss it much. I did crave it a bit at first but now I don't. I just drink tons of tea and water. I think I am finally serious enough that the desire to get healthy is stronger than the desire to drink the soda. I do however still eat my chocolates! They just have to fit into my daily number of calories. Getting started working out was a challenge as well. I started on the elliptical and it was just so boring! Once I moved to something I enjoyed doing it got easier. I also keep track of all the minutes I work out-that is very motivating! Good luck with starting over yourself!

Wow Jen! 26 pounds is awesome. How do you track your workout minutes? I should start doing that -- exercise is my biggest issue, especially in the winter.

I keep track of my minutes in 2 places. I just write them in on the calender and I also have an app on my phone. The phone app is actually pretty great-it also counts my calories for me-I just scan in what I ate and it does all the work for me!
