It's about time!

So today I've finally decided enough is enough. I am sick of carrying an extra person around all the time, trust me the extra company is not welcomed! For now I've decided to do the obvious things like cut of soda, fast food and fried things. (Three things which I love) and start walking. Next fall I'm going to be starting my first year of college and I want to start it off being healthy and happy for once. I just want to be able to walk into any store and be able to get an outfit, because at this current moment I either have to hope and pray the store has a plus size section or go to a specialty store. It would also be pretty awesome if I was a lot slimmer for my graduation and hey even prom because I've always been the fat girl in school. I started gaining weight when I was in 8th grade. Before that I was a fairly skinny kid and was also active. (I don't know what happened) I want to be able to do the things I used to.

I took ballet for years and kind of stopped in 7th grade and now I miss it and can't do it, because of my weight. Now I feel like I'm going to drop dead just walking up the stairs. I don't want to end up with an array of health problems so now is the time to put a stop to all that before it gets out of control, like my weight is. I went on the scale recently and was pretty shocked to learn I'm not too far off from being 300 (287) pounds! I just turned 18 I definitely should not be that overweight! Anyway hope to be able to find some support and friends on here as I start to shrink. My name is Rachel by the way. So thanks for reading this can't wait to meet people.

Hi there! I just wanted to say that I'm happy for you that you have decided to do something about it now. I was where you are exactly 10 years ago. Only I kept saying I would lose weight, and never followed through. I feel like I missed out on a lot of college life because of my weight. Good luck, and stick with it. You can do it!

Hi! Welcome :)
Firstly let me say that once you start walking, you'll grow addicted to it :) It's one of my favorite things to do. I just recently completed my first semester of College, so if you have any questions feel free to ask :) If you happen to find yourself watching television a lot (or even a little) something I like doing is just keeping my feet in motion during the commercials. Even if you think it's silly to be walking in place in your living room, it helps a lot. Good luck on your weight loss journey, with the right support and willpower you can accomplish anything you want :)
Again, welcome to 3FC :D
