Former Athlete

Hi All -

I'm new here so let me introduce myself. I'm Melissa, 27, former college athlete and recently engaged (YAY!) as of Christmas Eve. The fiance and I have been together over 6 years and in that time I have ballooned to my biggest ever. I was a college athlete and working out definitely kept my weight in check, but as soon as I stopped it slowly crept on and 6 years later -- here I am. I started my new healthy me regimen in October and have lost about 18lbs, but I have lots more to go.

Some of my challenges are -- I love food! I also have Hashimoto's (underactive thyroid).... oh and being overweight is in my genes.

THe last couple months have been great, even though the weight isn't coming off as fast as I'd like it to (I know we all wish we could snap our fingers) -- but now that I've become engaged I have extra motivation -- we're talking about getting married in October so I have to hit my goal by then (whatever that is).

Well, I look forward to "meeting" many of you and sharing all the ups and downs!

- Melissa

Hi-

I used to play rugby in college. I can totally relate. Good luck with your goals.

Hey Melissa :) Congrats on your engagement! When I was engaged, it was a HUGE drive for weight loss. Unfortunately, once they wedding was over I gained most of the weight back by not caring anymore. I think they call it - "letting yourself go" haha. Good luck :)
