thank you =]

I just started it.. =]
I make boiled eggs in the morning, and only eat the egg whites, with a cup of coffee, half a grapefruit, and two bran crisp (high fiber) with fiber jam.
Then until my next meal i have another 2 bran crisp crackers with fiber jam, and a piece of fruit.
Lunch will be a salad with a protein like grilled chicken or a salad with some parm, and pepper stuffed with tuna.
Since i tend to eat lunch late, around 5pm, I'm trying to stop eating after 5.. I figured i would lose more weight if i don't eat past 5, only problem is that is when i workout so if i workout past 5 i will have more veggies and protein when i get home.
I'm trying to get in as much exercise as possible before going back to school!

That doesn't sound like much food, I wish I had the discipline to do that! Unfortunately, boredom, stress and life takes a toll on me and I snack! I'm going to try to stick to 1100-1200 calories a day plus exercise. Sounds like you're on the right track. Keep it up!

I get some more added calories from condiments such as green olives, hummus, and grilled peppers :smug:
What kind of foods do you like?

I also used to be a vegeterian! but i developed anemia because of iron deficiency.. now i eat meat as well, grilled chicken. Even though you work night shift do you sleep a solid 8 hours? I heard sleeping less/more increases your apetite by as much as 30% :( and for less carbs.. you should really check out brancrisp crackers, they are really good, loaded with fiber and 2 net carbs per cracker. If you like workout dvds, i have heard wonderful things of the p90 program.
Don't be depressed! what i do is take a pair of jeans that i no longer fit in, and i hang it on the drawer next to my bed, so i see it before i go to bed and when i wake up.

Here's my story.. well about a year and a half ago i was losing weight nicely but then i got into a car accident, concussion, broken nose, and other skull fractures. I wasn't allowed to do any intense workouts because of my concussion for a while, so i just avoided the gym nearly altogether, soon after that i lost my grandma who raised me :( and turned to drinking and binge eating, and the pounds came on FAST.I went from 180 to 220 in a matter of 3 months.. This was during the summer.

I went back to school in fall, stopped drinking, and was ready to make a change again since i got the okay from my doctor to workout again.
When school began I had severe difficulties studying because of damage from the concussion, so i had to drop classes.. and pour hours and hours into school work more then i was used to, which lead to stress, which lead to me not losing any weight. I was on nutrisystem at the time, I just didn't lose any weight.. I think it was stress and not seeing results the way i wanted to,so i binged.
This past summer I started working out again and eating healthy, the results showed. But then i had to go for another nose surgery at the end of summer and again diet went to background, i lost the boyfriend i was in a relationship with for 2 years.. which really broke me. Hit the bottle and met a guy who drank daily.. dropped out of school for a semester cause i couldn't take it.. after a month and a half of drinking everyday and lying to my family to be with scum, i dumped the guy and the alcohol, registered for school next semester, changed my eating habits again, it hurt me that i put on the pounds again from drinking.. but i learned from my mistake, and when i drink now, its only because i am out and i will have a beer or two or its somebody's birthday. I'm much stronger, and will let nothing get in my way now!

Wow! I'm so sorry you have been through all of that. It's def been a tuff few years for you. You are now part of my motivation because after all you have been through, you aren't letting anything get in your way! If you were seeing results already, you can for sure do it again! I'm really sorry about your grandma, I can't imagine. I'm sorry about the boyfriend too, I would be totally devastated. I eat a lot when I'm stressed, mostly mindlessly until I see all the food wrappers in the trash and then I feel like crap so I eat more. Makes no sense.
I never sleep a solid 8 hours :( I've tried all natural sleep meds, prescription meds and nothing helps. I sleep for an hour or 2, wake up for bit and lay then and then do it again about 4 times. The real crummy thing is most times when I wake up, I snack! That's really what I need to stop doing.
I'm gonna look for the bran crackers, they sound amazing. Hopefully I can find them here in Ca. I tried the P90x program, but it was too hard and didn't keep me motivated. I'm sure if I stuck with it, I would have seen results.
Do you have anyone now close by that supports your weight loss efforts (friends, family, etc)?
How did you do on your eating plan today? I hate the word diet so I just use "eating plan instead". I've done ok so far. Today is my day off and because I work night shift I was up most the night morning and I just woke up from a nap, so now I'm ready to start my day.

It's been hard but the experiences helped me build a tolerance and the ability to judge a situation before acting, like if i see something delicious, i reason with myself, is it worth it? can i fit it into my daily caloric intake? and will i regret eating it. Thankfully the only binge behavior i have experienced lately has been to binge drinking, so no binge drinking= no binge eating. I've also found if i spend enough time at the gym in the evening, i come home ready for a shower and bed! i seriously almost fell asleep last night at 9:30 pm :dizzy: and about the bran crisp i strongly advise ordering it online.. maybe you can request a sample? I'm not sure, its just when i bought them in store, they were fairly stale. they are not the BEST tasting crackers to begin with, but they are crispy and very filling, when i am hungry at night i will have that cracker with jelly+ a bottle of water.

My day so far was good, ate healthy, got my workout in, only thing is when i came back from the gym i had a bowl with whole wheat pasta waiting for me.. so i grabbed some :D which was okay, since it was immediately post my workout. I guess the p90x doesn't work for everybody, i never tried it but ill take your word for it.
For support.. thankfully, my mom supports me 100%, makes me only healthy food, and really tries to make it easy for me.

How about you? how was your day? and do you have support?

P.S- Im flattered to be part of your motivation :o

Yay Jenn!! Sounds like you did so many things to saty on track today 1. gym 2. ate healthy 3 whole grain pasta instead of white :carrot: You are very lucky to have your mom supporting you. In my opinion, a good support system makes all the difference! I have my boyfriend who trys to keep me on track, except he's a skinny minnie and can eat whatever he wants. It makes it hard with snacks in the house and when we go out, but he does his best I guess. I can't be mad at him for having high metabolism and eating what he wants, but I can be jealous!

My day is only half way over. So far I'm within my calories and just finished a 1.5 hour workout. I'm really excited to plug my BodyBugg in to see how many calories I burned. I will keep you posted.
I'm still new at this- how the heck do I add you to a buddy list (if that's ok of course)?

Atleast hes supportive, which is great :) my mom helps me with my diet alot, only thing is my sister always buys junk food for the house, so we always have atleast one bag of potato chips around, i keep myself busy to avoid the temptation. I didnt get my workout in yet, what did you do for yours? Do you think the bodybugg is worth getting? cause i have been looking into it. Also I just added you to my buddy list, but i dont know what that does

Transporter 12-17-2010 08:25 PM

Can't even tell you are typing from a blackberry, so gj :) what do you do? 13 hour shifts.. damn
and i caved in and ordered the body media fit. i will have it next week! I'm really excited to get it :carrot: I ended up going to kick boxing yesterday and i will be heading out to the gym in a few minutes to get some cardio in.
I already looked at my schedule and made sure to make exercise a part of it, picked up some whey protein, i'm not worried :)
Don't sweat the cookies.. tomorrow i'm having pizza!! After working out of course. Im going to work out in the morning, then i'm off to get my tattoo colored in, it will take 4 hours, reason i'm eating pizza is because getting a tattoo done is EXTREMELY draining.. i can only equate it to a hard core swimming session with how hungry i get afterwards,
How is your day going?

Transporter 12-18-2010 09:51 AM

The BMF supposedly tracks your sleep as well, im curious about that. I live in central Jersey, the gym i go to is about a mile away, and i live in driving distance from another 3 gyms. It sucks there is no gym closer to you.. but atleast your in California :D and i woke up late and missed my weight lifting class, sucks lol. alarm didn't wake me up
