My Thickness Is TOO Juicy!!........

Hello Everybody! I have been searching for a site like this for months (maybe I could have used that time to exercise) and now here I am! I am 18 yrs old and have been a little on the thick side all my life. Summer of 2009 was the best few months for me. I was losing weight, exercising, and just fitting into a size 10 (I was used to being 15+).

I had made a decision to do my senior year of high school online because of the schools in my area and the lack of respectable teachers available in the school I was at. Taking all of my classes online kept me in the house, at the computer, 24/7 and by January of 2010 I had reached a size 15 again! After that point, the weight just kept coming and I was ignoring it! Now, I am wearing a size 20/22 depending on the brand and I am so upset with myself. My mom is overweight and so are my younger sisters. I always said I would never be at this point... but here I am!

My boyfriend is following suit and has gained a little, tiny gut. I went out and bought a Slim Fast container of powder so that I have something for breakfast and we have switched our diet to ALL salad, chicken, fish, and 1/2 a sandwich (we usually share). I played Basketball and Volleyball during High School, but now find it hard to even jog more than a minute. I will start to do Interval Walking (I read about it in Woman's World Magazine). It says to walk a minute, speed walk the next, and keep alternating for 20 minutes. the woman that was featured lost 20 pounds a month and 2 sizes a month, consistently. I hope it works.

I should also mention that I have been working at Starbucks for almost 2 months now and the temptation to fix a drink every hour is unbearable! Our drinks are so high in everything!! Keep me in your prayers LOL.

I will post pictures soon of my current weight, and hopefully if I find the time, I will keep everyone updated. You girls seem great and I am happy to be joining the family. Thanks for reading! :D

Welcome! :wel3fc: I'm actually in a similar situation. I'm 18, a senior, and doing my senior year online! I've been doing online school since I was in 8th grade. It is so easy to just sit at home but I make it to the Y almost every morning. :goodluck: Keep us updated :)

I also completed my schooling almost the same way you did, and I had problems not reaching for the occasional snack while sitting at home.
I wish you the best of luck on your weight- loss journey.
However, I'm concerned that losing that much weight in a month is rather unhealthy long-term. I would suggest to go for at most 2.5 pounds per week or 1% of your total body weight. If you go over that amount, you might end up at an extended plateau and an eventual weight re-gain.

Welcome to the site!!! First off, let me just say that it's a wonderful thing that you are tackling the problem w/ your weight now instead of waiting until you get older. At 34, I am SO mad at myself that I let myself be this way for so many years. I've made excuse after excuse for too many years ("oh, I need weight loss surgery just to jumpstart me, I've got too much to lose just on my own"...etc etc etc) and now there's no more excuses. It's freeing, honestly, and I hope you get that same feeling.

Do you have a diet plan yet???

Thanks for the warm welcoming!! LOL. I plan to lose at least 10 pounds a month. So far, I am having SlimFast for breakfast or a small bowl of Fiber Plus cereal, 1/2 a sandwich with a few carrots, and for dinner I enjoy salad with tomatoes, avocado, and maybe some chicken. I have been eating this way for about a week and a half now.

Last night I did the Interval Walking where I walked 1 minute and jogged the next (sometimes replaced the jogging with speed walking). I felt a difference when I woke up this morning and I appeared a little smaller (LOL probably my imagination).

I have been feeling lighter and more energized already and I will try to get some pictures posted as soon as I can! I'm not giving up and neither should any of you! =]
