A bit about why I joined.

  • Hi,I'm Tina and I have a huge goal to acheive. I'm embarassed by my weight yet haven't been motivated until recently. I went to a theme park and didn't fit in one of the coasters. I was so embarassed. I'm 5'9 and 280lbs, I lost alot of wieght before but life happend and added lbs.Now I'm back on the band wagon and have set short and long term goals. My goal is to drop 100lbs in a year but my smaller goal to start is 10 lbs by Christmas. Things that I'm doing now is:
    exercising almost daily at the Y,drinking less sugary drinks,eating more protine,going to be attending an 8 week balanced life class at the y, eating more fresh foods. I really want to lose the wieght for a trip to Florida,and the fact no one will respect a obese nurse like they would a healthy sized one, I'm going to be going into nursing in the fall.

    You have taken a great first step and I think it is healthy to set short and long term goals with this. It isn't easy, that is for sure, but the support you will receive here is so beneficial. Check in regularly for support and encouragement. One of the things that I have found I need to do is to be prepared. Having healthy foods in my fridge as well as an idea of what I am going to fix for dinner is HUGE for me so that I dont come home hungry and blow it.

  • Hi and welcome... the people here are great! We are close to the same size and have close to the same goals. I have been going now for about 2 weeks... and it's hard, but so rewarding when you get it right. Good luck with your journey!
