Well. Here I am again. I had emergency surgery in November and wasn't able to move much for several weeks. Aghgh! Between that and eating comfort food, I started gaining back the weight just as slowly but as surely as I took it off. About 5 pounds a month. I've gained 12 pounds since my surgery. :-(

I'm frustrated, but I'm back on the eating plan. I've been doing some PT exercises, but that's not enough to help with weight loss. I so want to go back to my walking routine, but with my back and my fibro (particularly), everything hurts and I'm afraid to do too much.

I'm glad I'm back on the forums and I could really use your support!

Hello Jeany. I am new here and stumbled on your thread. I hope you are doing okay. I gained a lot of weight with the loss of my Grandma several years ago so I know how that goes. PT definately doesn't help w/ weight loss (at least it didn't for me). I had a spinal fusion done in '08 and am still very restricted due to more disc issues. Pain makes it hard to get moving and to be motivated to try anything. I wish you the best and hope that you can start walking soon. Have you thought about a recumbent bike? It is one of the very few things that I can do.
Robin

Thanks rspoiledyorkies. I had a discectomy at L-5/S-1 because I was losing nerve function.
Anyways. My kids and I are recovering from the flu now. I'm finally out of bed, since 2:45pm.
The recumbent bike hurts my spine. The reg.exercise bike is better. But I like swimming and the treadmill the best.
Lost two pounds.
Onward and upward, I suppose!
Thanks for dropping me a line.
