Newest Newbie, Here :-)

  • Hey everyone. I'm Monique. I came across this site through a search engine and bookmarked it right away. I figured it would be a great place for me to get support as well as giving support to those like myself who need to lose weight . I've struggled with weight since about 1998, when I was 14 years old (I'm 26 now). I started being inactive, sitting at home online all the time and of course everything I ate started to stay with me and I went from 130 or whatever I was to 140....which, I would love to be 140 now! LOL...but at the time, that was a bit chubby for me because you could see it in my face.

So obviously at the point I am at today, I haven't improved my weight at all which is why I am sitting here now at 222 pounds. 228 is my heaviest. I've tried dieting many times of course like we all have....but I always give up! Even when I'm doing well...which is a shame. The most I've been able to lose at once is 22 pounds before gaining it all back and then some.

I have booked a Disney Cruise for March of next year from my two younger sisters and myself (they're 14 and 18) so this should be some MAJOR motivation for me because I don't want to go on my first cruise and feel so bad about the way I look. I want to be able to wear a bathing suit without a shirt over it for crying out loud. LOL.

So, anyhoo, I will try to be around here as often as I can to keep motivated I know it won't be easy but it must be done

  • I know how you feel about those bathing suits haha. Any time I used to wear them without a shirt I'd feel so awful even though I'm sure nobody I was with really cared how I looked in them. Good luck with reaching your goals! So jealous about the cruise, sounds very fun.
  • Thank you both!
