Hello, back again!

Well, I believe this is my THIRD time using 3FC... I see the last time I was active was just a little over a year ago, and upsettingly, I have gained about ten pounds since then (gained 6 lbs over my original starting weight).

I am most active on the calorie-count forums, but I figure the more support I have, the better, and I remember getting a lot of motivation from the folks here. A little about me: I'm 27 (28 in 3 weeks), 5'7", and recently reached my highest weight of 225 lbs. Ouch! The reason for my weigh gain is very simple: I love to eat. And I usually overeat. But this time I am working on a change that will last... I am not dieting, but I am re-evaluating the way I use food, not simply as a pleasurable activity, but as a way to fuel my body. I count my calories now, and make sure to stay within 1300-1500 every day. For the past week and a half, I have stayed consistent, and have lost nearly 5 lbs.

I have hypothyroidism, so I have to realize that my weight loss will be slower than I'd like... I think that's what's tripped me up in the past. When the scale doesn't move fast enough, or not at all, I get discouraged, tell myself I will always be fat, and I give up. The problem with this, though, is that I'm not just "staying fat", but I am gaining weight. This stops here. I have been working out regularly, and I have appointed my boyfriend (who I live with) to be my coach. He wasn't too happy about it at first, scared to offend me if he pointed out that I was overeating, but now he has learned that he is not offending me, he is helping me, and he knows that both of us will be much happier if I get down to a healthy weight, even if it involves a little tough love!

I don't want to write a whole book here, just wanted to say hi, so hopefully this time around I will do it for good, and a year from now I'll be maintaining a healthy weight and sharing my success stories with others!
