Hello all :) New here, and at my breaking point.

Hello, I am Jacki. I am a 28 year old female from northern california. I am 5'4 and tend to stick right around 300 pounds. I plan on doing a full weight assessment this week. So I should have some actual stats soon.

I have always been over weight, but I would love fit back into my size 14 jeans lol, yes I don't have a pair but I remember loving being that size. When I think about it, it doesnt really seem to far away. My 29th birthday is at the end of april and I would love to at least meet half of my goal weight, so around 230 bye then. Seems like a lot but slow and steady wins the race. I am not counting my chickens before they hatch and I would be happy with losing 50 pounds before then but I have to look at the thing as a whole.

I could really uses some encouragement. I am starting a blog on my journey also because I think writing about this it will help me immensity.

As of lately, I notice my body aching a lot more than it ever has, I have always had back issues but now I notice my feet hurting also and I swear my I feel my heart beating way to much, who knows might not be my heart but being overweight and knowing heart issues run in my family lately it has been ticking in my head and that to me is my breaking point.

I know I have to cut out a lot of things that I love, such as pasta and potatoes and I am even gonna have to cut out Vitim d milk because my stomach just cannot handle it.

Okay, enough rambling. Sorry my mind is going a million miles a minute. I do not know what I hope to gain out of this website besides some inspiration and hopefully a person or two that I can buddy up with on this journey.

Thanks for reading. And at some point I will post pictures I just do not know if today is that day.

Welcome to 3FC! All I can suggest is try not to go all out at once if you think that will discourage you. Small changes over time really add up :) It's about progress, not perfection (that's my blog motto www.thistimeits4real.com). Also- stick with something you can do- I have PCOS so stick to the south beach diet because it seems to work best for me. In fact I changed my diet first and then when I got the hang of it I started exercising. I went from HATING exercise to getting in 4-6 days a week and loving it :)

Good luck!

Hi and welcome Jacki! :) Definitely take small steps in the beginning and don't let yourself get overwhelmed. You can do this!

Welcome and I could not agree more, this is a great place for support and encouragement.

I am like beerab...I have broken it down into smaller more manageable pieces for myself or I would be so overwhelmed I would never start anywhere. I to have PCOS so am following the plan for SouthBeach as it focuses on healthier foods for my body and helps my blood sugar issues. So right now I am focusing on changing my eating habits and seeing success with myself and my family. In January I will begin focusing on adding exercise to the mix. The eating habits should be second nature to me by then, therefore won't take as much time and thought for me so I can focus on the exercise portion. Baby steps win the race.

Also, the most important thing for me has been to not look at this as a "diet". This is a lifestyle change that I am making. I am chosing to make healthy choices for myself and my family so we can end this legacy of obesity. That has really helped motivate me in this process.

Good luck to you. Mini goals are very helpful as well so you can see progress as you are working towards the bigger goal.
