Hi Everyone,
I'm 31 years old and have struggled with my weight ever since puberty. At my heaviest I was 242, but was then diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Thanks to the wonders of synthetic thyroid hormones, without even trying, I managed to drop about ten pounds. But the scale hasn't budged in months and it's time I really start trying to lose the weight. A few months ago my endocrinologist told me I was prediabetic and need to lose some weight. I've been in denial about the prediabetes, but have finally started to believe that if I don't get my act together, I will have diabetes in a few years. So here I am. Ultimately I want to get my weight down to 150 pounds, but since that seems almost insurmountable, for now, I have my sights focused on reaching 215.
