I'd like to introduce myself~! :D
Heller!
My name is shiitakeshroomz and I love food! Haha, maybe that's why I'm here! I haven't started a formal exercise or diet (yet), but that comes on Monday! I'd generally like to introduce myself and see what kind of community this is! I'm an 18-year-old who has been heavy her whole (mostly whole, haha) life. I'm 205lbs... This is the biggest I've been in my entire life and I'm so embarrassed and ashamed of myself for it. No matter how many times I try and lose weight it never seems to work and only backfires! And I move further and further away from my 130lb. goal! In the past two years I've worked at a bakery/restaurant called Panera. I think the biggest reason for gaining weight stems from working here. I worked ALL the time. I hardly ever ate breakfast or lunch and usually only had time for dinner around 10 or 11pm. I heard you aren't supposed to eat after a certain time at night... I don't think what I was doing was at all healthy. When I did eat or drink, I ate all the wrong things. Bakery items, fast food/take-out... anything that didn't take time cause I was TIRED. :mcd: Over the past two and half years, my metabolism has gone from pretty good to downright DISGUSTING. Now I have the slowest met. ever! :nono: After all this being tired, and having multiple health problems, as well as battling depression because of certain personal family events, I just want to lose this weight for good. The problem is... I have no motivation, I don't know what to eat, and I'm SO tired all the time. I'm going to try cutting back on sugars, sodium, and carbs (not all, but some). I don't know what else I can do... It's all so expensive... Anyways, there's my story and I can't wait to start... albeit shakily... |

There are many different forums representing many types of diets and programs. Look around and find one that best suits your needs. Well, WELCOME! I was around 205 at your age! Take it from me, I know you might not like your body right now, but you should still LOVE the hecks out of it. I hope you the bestest! Look around, and for motivation sometimes I look at peoples before and afters. Your goal is totally attainable. Best of luck darling.

Aw man! Panera is great!...but not so great for the bod! Very hard when you work around tempting stuff all the time...Yikes!...The others are right, you will learn much and find a lot of inspiration on here, it's a great place.
Whatever you decide to do though to lose your weight, be sure and make yourself a priority...Ya gotta have a plan to reach those goals. Have an idea/make a small goal. Read about eating healthy and be sure to leave yourself time to shop and prepare the things that are good for you. Too many times I've had problems when I haven't had the 'good food' I need on hand...And then I've resorted to the 'crap food' that is easy to find at home or at the drive-thru. It's hard but you CAN do this ;) |
Oh, and also, PLEASE try not to be ashamed or embarrassed of your body/weight. We all too often gauge who we are on only our weight and it's ludicrous, you are SO much more than a number on a scale....We really gotta focus on all the good things about ourselves. Beating up on ourselves only makes the journey even harder....
