Hello everyone. :)

  • I came across this site searching for a funny diet cartoon/picture to use for my blog....and it seems to be just what I was looking for a while back.

My friend and I have started our own exercise and diet program.

We both wanted to lose some weight, and thought it was better to do it together, rather than alone. (I did it alone about 2 years ago, and it was hard, hard, hard.....but that weight loss/gain is a whole other story.)

I haven't had that much time to look through the site yet, but I can't wait to dive in and see what kind of goodies are hidden in here.

I'm hoping to make some new friends, get some more support and motivation to help me along during this new adventure.

A little bit about myself....I'm 30, married and the mother of two kiddos.

Booger #1 is 11 and she is in the 6th grade, and Booger #2 just turned 10 and he's in the 4th grade. Both are very active, and little athletes (football, baseball, softball....and my daughter wants to play tennis now....) and I want to be able to help them stay active, and set a better example. (I DO NOT want to be the chubby Momma who just watches and tells them to "run faster" or "throw harder" while I'm sitting on my lazy butt.....good example, right?)

I am 5'10''....and I weigh.....a lot more than I should....and would like to get down to about 150....145 possibly. (That's my pre-booger weight.)

For 3 weeks, we have been walking/jogging 2-3 (sometimes more) times a week, plus our workout videos at home 5 - 6 days a week.

So far, I have dieted, walked/jogged, and exercised myself down 8 pounds. Only about 35 - 40 more pounds to go. (Just gave my weight away right then, didn't I?? lol)

I look forward to getting to know everyone better, and making some new friends.

Good luck to everyone here!! I wish you guys all the best!!
  • Hi and welcome to 3FC.

  • hiya! i am a newbie too, so reading some of the intros.

great you have been able to get a friend to do it with you - it can really make a big difference.

and congrats on the 8lbs loss! im down 7 times since my recent diet reboot
  • Hi. Nice to meet you.

    Congrats to you too.

Yes, having a friend has really helped....a lot.

She keeps me going even when I don't really want too. I'm thankful I have her....she keeps me from getting lazy. lol
  • I used to be a runner, but now I'm just a walker. I try to do it at least 5-6 times per week, but I don't beat myself up if I miss a day or two. I walk on my treadmill and keep an eye on my little one running around. I don't have any work out buddies. All my friends are SKINNY... Boo!
  • That's why we walk/jog. lol

Jog as far as we can then walk. Just around the block twice. It takes about an hour.

I want a treadmill so bad.....that's what I'm asking for my Christmas present.

I got lucky that I have a friend who wanted to join me. I told her about this site, so I hope she signs up.

    She's a good motivator.
  • I know. Sometimes I think about how much easier it was to eat (more) when I ran, but I had this hip stress fracture that would NEVER heal--- hence why I walk now. I do get tempted every so often though. I hope your friend does join. I need a good motivational talking to!! lol
  • Ouch....that sounds painful.
  • yes, and oh so annoying too. it's healed now and I have these sketcher shape ups that are so comfy it's like walking on a cloud, which is making me think...hmmmm I bet I could run in these without alot of impact. LOL
  • Have you tried a light jog??

    Those shoes really comfy??

I've heard mixed reviews on them.

    Glad you healed.
  • to 3fc!!!!!

Best wishes on your weight loss journey
