I am new to the community and wanted to say hello. I've struggled with weight my whole life, since about age 8. I've lost before, gained back even more..rinse and repeat.
It's a bit different now though since I'm getting older, along with the recent weight gain I've had plenty of aches and pains. I've also been unemployed for the past 6 months and have seem to be falling into a depression and gaining even more weight. I am now at the highest I have ever been, I weighed myself last week after ignoring the scale for nearly 4 months and to my horror it read 265. How did I let myself go that much??? Well, it sure gave me some insight as to why my lower back ached from just trying to do chores around the house. What makes me sad is that just a few years ago I was jogging 4 miles per day and now I can hardly go from the parking lot into a store without trying to catch my breath. Being all of 4'9",I'm starting to notice people stare at me a lot more than usual. Which makes me want to stay home where I can't be seen!!
On the bright side, after a visit to my doctor and after a full physical I have no signs of serious ailments..yet. So with this good news I started working out a few days ago and have cut out processed and fast foods, and have dramatically increased my water intake.
I started working out again and in just 2 days I have a bit more pep in my step and for the first time in about 2 weeks I didn't feel the need to take a nap today.
I'm looking forward to reading everyone's stories and sharing my journey with the community.

your intro was looking a little lonely, and I'm trying to get to know everyone myself, so thought I'd drop in and give you a welcome! So...welcome! ^_^
Trocarnoir. I'm so glad you found us and have decided to take charge of your body. Now is the time to do it. I waited way too long and it gets a lot harder as you get older.
