Stop letting my weight define who I am

  • Hi everyone,

I have been a lurker for too much time, so I finally decided to introduce myself.
As you can see I had some success with my struggle, I’ve managed to lose some of the weight – 25 lbs. But, I entered a plateau stage, and I’m ready to move out of it. So hopefully writing here would make me more accountable from now on.
I’m 29, and I guess you can say I have been overweight for most of my life. Starting from being the chubby kid in the neighborhood. Through, all my adult life. The status of Being overweight, it’s what always seems to define me. My failures are because I’m fat, my successes are despite being fat. And I’m tired from these feelings, and I’m extremely tired from letting my weight define who I am. So, I’m stopping all of this, and I’m giving myself a new way of thinking.

Thank you for reading, and sorry for any grammar mistakes, English is my second language- I’m from Israel.
  • Good for you! So happy you`ve joined here. One thing that has helped me is to post everday. It has really given me a feeling of comaraderie.and I know that if I wasn`t posting here and chatting that I would have already eaten that box of chocolate marshmallow cookies that is sitting in my pantry! (It belongs to my son).

Welcome and good luck with getting more healthy!
  • Hello, I too am new to this community. I have lost a large amount of weight and am slowly gaining, and I am freaking out! I am struggling to get back on track. I have been looking back at my food journals and workout logs to see what it was that triggered this weight gain. I have gained about 16lbs from my lowest weight. I need support!!!
