Starting Anew :)

I'm really excited to start participating in these boards. I need some moral support and people to talk to about my weight struggles because DH is super supportive, but I'd rather not constantly burden him with my weight woes. :)

The abridged version of how I got where I am:

At 9 years old parents divorced and I gained 40 pounds
Lost most of it at 15 on WW
Thought I was overweight from that point on at 125 and 5'3 - looking back I now see that I was in great shape, but wasted so much time trying to get down to 115 :(
Gained about 20 lbs when I was going through struggles with my ex
Broke up and lost it, met DH and gained 30 lbs of "love weight"
Started a Body For Life to get it all off, and found out I was PG a few days later
Fast forward three years... I gained 60 lbs while pregnant. I am still carrying 40 of that. I can't call it baby weight anymore.
I've tried every diet out there, well, at least 30+ diets.

I now weigh 205 pounds and can't fathom how I got here. Losing weight now is WORK, hard work. I used to be able to drop 10 lbs in a month and be happy. I now have about 75 pounds to get to goal.

My hope is to do so by next July. I have started experiencing really adverse things from this weight, exhaustion when trying to run, bad heartburn and acid reflux, racing heart when I overeat. I want to run and play with my toddler, I'm tired of sitting on the sidelines.

Looking forward to joining everyone as we all get to goal! :carrot:

I'm new here too and want to say welcome! And I share a lot of what you've been through. I've barely started, so the others will have better advice. But in these first few days I've just taken it one baby step at a time so I don't get overwhelmed and give up.

Welcome. I suggest you look for a Support Group or Challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated, find one that inspires you or fits your needs, and just post to join.

Thanks everyone, I'm really happy to be here. :) Where can I find groups to join? Are they within the boards that are age specific?

Thank you!
