Hello Lovelies

Hi everyone! I decided to join 3fatchicks for some support in reaching my weight loss goals, my friends have yet to jump on the diet/health bandwagon and it can be difficult to get healthy when the people you hang out with aren't into it (I may be preaching to the choir). I usually hover around 135-140 lbs. but since I've been with my fiance the past 4 years the weight of love has crept up on me. We both love cooking and wine, so splurging on homemade mac'n'cheese with pancetta at 1am has definitely made an impact on my weight over time and has probably detrimented my health. I've been an avid runner for the past 5 years and I'm a workout fiend, but my lust for food has overcome my fitness regime! I've noticed since I've gained the weight that my knees and hips have started to ache after long runs, yikes! I'm not concerned so much with my appearance (although the fact I'm getting married in the next year or so is some motivation) I just want to be as healthy as possible and be able to run and be active late into my life. Can't wait to meet all of you!! :carrot:

Welcome Chanmichelle,

I know what you mean about how love crept up on you. I am not sure how I gained the weight (accept the obvious by eating), but feeling "comfortable" in a relationship and loving to cook/eat, did not help matters. I have taken the bull by the horns and will win this battle. This website is great and you will find a lot of support groups. Just find something that works for you.

My goodness the homemade mac'n'cheese with pancetta sounds heavenly. Tonight we grilled some fish and zucchini. I have made major changes to my diet and I workout, workout and workout (this is my new addiction).

I wish the best to you in your journey. Be strong:D
