In it for the long haul
Hi All. I'm a newbie here and I'm forcing myself to post (as opposed to just lurk). I've struggled with weight for... well for ever, it seems. I'm turning 39 next month and I know weight loss and maintenance will just get harder with age.
I am currently motivated by an upcoming vacation. I'm going away with my girlfriends and all of my friends are slim. I don't want to be the big girl in the group photos anymore. My goal is only 1 lb per week and to exercise daily for my health. I'll be posting in numerous sub-forums, but I thought I should just say Hi! Cindy |

Hi Cindy, Welcome! It really does help to find a small group of people since the forum is so monstrously big. What a nice opportunity to go enjoy a vacation without weight being a preoccupation. And with that nice weight loss rate you'll likely to preserve that fabulous muscle too! All the best.

A vacation sounds like fun - the perfect motivation. Where are you ladies going? A 1lb/wk loss sounds very realistic and attainable. I always shoot for 2-3lbs/wk and I am disappointed in my results- maybe I will have to follow your lead. :) |
