Hiya everyone!
 

It took me a while to introduce myself! But I'm finally serious about wanting to lose weight, and I know that I won't be able to do it without the support of people who truly understand what I'm going through. It's like a sigh of relief. I recently gave up smoking and meat because they didn't really fit with my world view anymore...and aside from spending the past 2 weeks eating constantly and becoming the World's Biggest Neurotic...I feel a lot better, and I'm starting to truly believe I can actually function without smoking. I know my biggest struggle in losing weight will be ending my extremely unhealthy relationship with food, and trying to find comfort in something else besides those wonderful sweet things I used to keep around the house. But reading all these posts from people going through the same thing is really empowering!

Welcome and congrats on quitting smoking, We are glad you are here and hope you keep us updated on your progress and goals

There's just something about knowing we're not alone. It is, just how you put it, empowering. My with all those changes neurotic is pretty tame, good for you. Wish you all the best. And as a former smoker who almost weighed the same, I hope this site does for you what it did for me.
