Default Newbie! On my way to perfect HEALTH

Hi! I'd like to introduce myself
My name is Cassie, I'm 21 and have been on my way to being Healthy! I'm taking the stand to take control of my life. My main goal is to be in the best health ever. Of course I want MY Ideal body (nice and soft but toned) but my number 1 concern is health. I'm not looking for diets or fad exercise equipment, I'm putting fourth the effort to change my lifestyle and start a new way of living.
I started by making small (but very crucial) changes, first of course is no soda! The only time I ever drink soda is every now and again, and when I do I drink Blue Sky sodas which are all natural and DON'T have HFCS.
Along with that I made sure to cut everything out of my diet that wasn't natural, such as artificial colors and flavors, HFCS, BHT, MSG, etc.
I NEVER use the microwave.
Something else I strongly stand by is buying only Organic produce and as many organic products that I can.
I've stopped eating meat for the most part, I have a mainly vegetarian lifestyle, but when I do indulge I again try to buy only Organic.

I feel like I'm doing pretty good on monitoring my food intake, (minus the fact I love sweets and Voodoo doughnuts just opened up!)The main part for me is making sure I'm active DAILY. I have a routine of exercises that I try to do daily, but I tend to be really good for like 4 days and then really bad for 5 days ><
I also try to get some cardio in daily, via hiking, jogging, playing tennis etc.
I made a little notebook to keep track of the days I do and don't do my daily exercises and cardio. I also added a checklist for other things I want to do daily like take certain vitamins, having a cup of green tea and drinking a kombucha.

I started at 240lbs and lost 30 due to lack of food $$ (not intentional starvation) then when I had more $$ I gained back 20, Then I took a stand and started working out and went on a 6 day 32 mile backpacking trip and lost 30 more pounds, so total after all the yo-yoing I've lost 40lbs! My long term goal is between 120 and 150 which is kind of a big gap but thats my healthy BMI range. My short term goal is 180! I hope to reach this goal (and maybe another 10 or 20 lbs) by the end of summer.
I would love to have an email buddy like I saw on previous posts.
I could ramble on forever so send me a message and lets chat and motivate eachother!

Peace, Love, and hippie hugs!
-Cassie

Default Welcome

We are glad you are here. You sound alot like me, I started my healthier eating about 2 weeks ago and my goal for July was no soda and fast food, so far so good..

My sister has started to enlighten me about the problems with HFCS and so I scrutinize labels more and more now, I am pretty much just eating fruits and vegatables these days

Next month I start my exercise program..keep us posted on how you are doing, we are here for you in support
