Default Hello from England

Hi everyone

My name is Mark, I am 40 and live just outside London England.

I currently weigh 608lbs and just been kicked off the bariatric surgery
work up program through faults of my own, so i am going to have another
go at it alone and seeing as I spend most of my life online I thought I would
find somewhere to call home and hopefully make some new freinds.

Hi Mark,
This is a good and helpful place to be - you'll like it!

Have you made plans yet about how you're going to lose weight?

hi Onederchic & Rosinante

Rosinante - The Obesity center dietition put me on an emergency milk
only diet where milk replaced food, I was meant to loose %10 of my
body weight over 9 weeks but I failed at it so I am going to do my best
to stay on this for a few months but after that I dont know what will happen.

After being kicked off the bariatric program I recieved a letter saying I have been referred to another dietition at the Obesity center but nothing to do with bariatrics, the appointments in middle of august, I will know more then

Mark,

Welcome. Lots of great folks here. Good luck on your journey. So you are just drinking milk right now? How effective is that? Hope you like milk .

Take Care

Nancy

Thumbs up Welcom Mark (Markymark)

Hi Mark (Markymark) -

It's always nice to have another guy around. There are a bunch of us scattered here and there.

If you have time to explore, you'll find a bunch of threads that you might find appealing and welcoming.

It's good that you're already connected to a dietitian to work up an eating plan - hope your milk diet lasts you until mid August.

Have you chosen an exercise plan yet?

Hi ladyrama
not right now no, i was kicked off the bariatric program a week ago and ive
break from it, i'm getting back on the wagon tomorrow (wednesday)

for very overweight people it's hugely effective and it's common to loose
around 1st per week, but i would advise anyone thinking about going on it
to speak to their doctor/dietition first, it's mostly used as a emergency diet
to get obese+ people that have dangerous health issues to lose weight fast.

also people having bariatric surgery are told to stay on milk only 2 weeks
before the operation so that A. they get used to liquid diets as thats
all they will be able to have for a couple of weeks after the op and
B. it shrinks the liver which covers the area the bypass is done and hence makes it easier for the surgeon.

Hey Bill

i have no exersize plan at the moment, i very little mobillity and get out of breath just going to the toilet,
most of the time i just stop and after a few mins catch my breath back but sometimes it gets out of control
and i cannot breath at all even to the point of being able to reach the telephone to call for ambulance,
so i'm not going to worry about exersize just yet, i am going to try and loose 5-10st on this milk diet
which will give me a lil more mobility then i will focus on exersize.
