My name is Emily, I'm 23 years old and weigh approximately 400 pounds. I have been a long time "lurker" of 3FC but have never posted. I have just started my own blog which details my journey from super morbidly obese to functionally fit. Check it out if you have some time--comments are always appreciated.

Welcome. Congrats for coming out of lurk-dom, I suggest you look for a support group or challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated. Find one you like that fits your needs, or inspires you, and just post to join.

Just read your blog... sounds like you're on the right track and are thinking it all through logically. I see what you mean about your likes not being active... I've been quite sedentary for a few years and often sit at a desk (as I am now) ... I sometimes think I should have been an aerobics instructor or something like that, where my job involved exercise... I think I might look a little different than I do now. Good luck Emily!

Jabba - my likes are definitely very sedentary at this time. I've NEVER enjoyed sports and to be honest, never really had the chance to learn to enjoy the more physical ones as my blood vessels dilate really easily (resulting in me turning red really quickly). Teachers would always excuse me from PE class as they were worried about me overworking my body.

Now that I'm older and realize that it's mostly a superficial reason to avoid sports, I am someday hoping that I enjoy running or maybe even dragonboating. Need to find physical activities to release stress!

Caela - Very cool to hear that you have a background in strategic management. Looking at my health/life from this perspective has been REALLY eye opening!
