Massive task ahead..
I just found this site. I don't really know what to write here, but...
I've always been the fat chick. I'm done with it. I'm tired of being invisible and miserable and unable to move freely. I just want to feel normal and comfortable in my own skin. I feel like my whole life has passed me by and I haven't even lived it. Sometimes I think that maybe it's too late for me. But I'm only 25! There is so much work ahead of me and I feel completely alone. It's going to take me a really long time to achieve my goals. I need to lose HALF of my body weight, and I am terrified.. |
Mishy,
I'm 48 and I know it isn't too late for me. You get this done and you will be an inspiration to yourself and others for many many years. I generally don't jump into these introduction threads anymore but yours struck me differently. I love how you describe your situation and how you feel about it. Be it smoking or weight loss, I believe you have to really want it to get it and that requires that feeling of misery you described. That is a great motivator. You got your head right where it needs to be. If you feel alone, then you came to the right place. I spent months looking at forums for a truly supportive atmosphere and this place is the best. You will not be alone here. Find the plan that makes sense to you and jump into the conversation. You will be embraced and you will find support. If you're interested in cutting weight by cutting carbs come join us in the carb counters forum. It's quite a commitment so that's something you need to consider carefully. No grains, no bread, no cereal, no pasta, no sweets. We all cheat a little, but not much. |
Hi and welcome to 3FC.

I'll be turning 50 this year and I'm hear to also add--it's NEVER too late!
Be glad you've decided to not waste your youth by not dealing with your weight now. It's one of my biggest regrets--why didn't I do this sooner??? OH, well! Better late than never, right?! Read the different forums and jump in when you're ready. What works for one person doesn't always work for another. Don't be afraid to change plans. The important thing is to keep trying until YOU find a sustainable way of life you can see yourself doing FOREVER. It really is a lifestyle change. I wish you all the best and a hearty welcome to 3FC! You aren't doing this alone--come join us ;) |
