Week 1 & hello
 
Hey everyone! I have browsed this site for a few years now and absolutely love it. Well I finally decided to join. I am 30 years old and have always been a little overweight. I am also a yoyo dieter. I am trying to do it right this time by just eating well, smaller portions of the bad things and by working. I now am ready to admit to myself that pills dont work, cleanses dont make you skinny and there really is not other way than to eat well and exercise.

So, anyways... I started last week on my new "lifestyle." I started off by buying a heart rate monitor for my workouts. I wanted to know how much I was really burning b/c machines can be off. Anyways, it is the best thing ever. I always find myself wanting to push more just to reach a higher number. Ill do 5 more minutes of cardio just to reach 600 calories. Or lift weights for a little while longer. I love it and highly recommend one for anyone who works out.

I also started eating healthy again and sticking to a 1200 calorie diet. I am using the iPhone app "loseit" to keep track and I really like it.

Anyways... that's my story. Thanks for having me on here an dI can't wait to join in on some of the fun. And remember.... nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. :)

Thanks for sharing. I just started my new lifestyle on Monday and so far I am loving every bit of it. I also browsed for a long while before joining. Welcome to 3fc, and keep it up.

Hi Kristin and welcome. I just joined 3FC also. I am on day 10 of my new journey and I am down 3.4lbs. I have changed my eating habits totally and I am doing some type of exercise in the mid afternoon and walking every evening. Some days I think I'm going to go crazy because I still want to eat when I shouldn't. I'm a snacker, love chips and salty things more so than sweet. I'm gonna look into a heart rate monitor, I'd love to know how many calories I'm burning each day. Thanks for the tip.

Welcome. Since Chicks can be overwhelming at first, I suggest you look for a support group or challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated. Find one you like that fits your needs, or inspires you, and just post to join.

Good Morning, I get an email sent to my phone, but I've noticed that I only get an email after I have commented. So if it's one that you started and have not gone back to, I'm not sure you'll get an email alert after the first comment (the next day). But I could be wrong. I have only started one thread that was my intro. The others are all for accountability and I only get an alert/email after I have edited/updated my information for the day. (I think). Hope that makes sense :) Have a great day.
