Hi Leighla and welcome to 3FC.

As for the doing it part of things, only you can do it so I suggest deciding on a plan and committing to it 150%.

Good luck with your goals.

Hugs
Michelle

Welcome Leighla!

I am also a planner and organizer. (I analyze things all to pieces! :dizzy: ) My advice is to take some time to research and plot, create a master strategy, and set a date when you're going to begin it all. I started planning in mid-April, incorporated the changes in a little bit at a time, and my official This Is The Beginning day is tomorrow. (Oh, and be prepared to have to tweak...no plan is foolproof.)

3FC is a great place for support. I can't believe how active the forum is and how encouraging and helpful everyone is. You've come to the right place. :)

Good luck! You CAN do it.

Welcome Leigh. Since Chicks can be over-whelming at first, I suggest you look for a support group or challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated, find one you like that fits your needs, and just post to join.

Hi Leighla ~ welcome to 3FC. You've come to a great place for support. There's no time like the present to get started. One of the best quotes I've seen on this site is "One year from now you'll be glad you started today." Even if you don't know exactly what plan you are going to follow you can start making changes today - go for a walk, reduce your portions, choose vegetables, etc. I am a calorie counter and for the first time in my life (I'm 45) I have found something that I know I can do forever. With calorie counting there is nothing that I can't have ~ I just have to plan for it and decide if it is worth spending my calories for (amount of fat, carbs, etc). I do find that I make much healther choices and I constantly question "is X number of calories worth it?" It was probably 6 weeks or more before I ate any of my problem foods (like chocolate). Now, I am able to have a treat every once in while without the fear of one turning into ten. The best thing I did for me was start immediately. I knew I had to change and I knew I had to do it now.

Good luck to you. You are only 25 ~ your life is just beginning.
