Hello all. I am new here.

My name is Mindy. I currently weigh 179 pounds and want to get back to 130-140. I wear a size 14 and want to at least get back to my size 9's. My problem is I don't eat much during the day and eat late in the evening. I get started "dieting" and then after a couple weeks lack the motivation to continue. In hopes of some motivation and encouragement I came here. I know that I need to just change my lifestyle and stop just "dieting". I am reading a book entitled Super Health which teaches benefits of certain foods and small changes you can gradually make over a 6 week period.

Anyone here near my weight and goal weight? I'd love to read your plan and progress.

Hi Ms123, Welcome :), I weigh 194 and my weight goal is 150. I'm not starting my weight loss journey until Tuesday gonna give it a full 30 day trial and prayerfully at the end of the month I will be some what proud of myself with a different number on the scale. :)(not to get down to 150 but just to do all the right things) then I'll shoot for another 30 days, and another, until I reach my goal. I've come up with a mini goal of 184 not sure what a reasonable about of time to do it in is ... we'll see)

I love the support here from everyone, just reading the threads are enlightening. I have been jotting down tid bits from here, gonna type them up and put them in the kitchen as reminders of what to do when I need encouragement. Hope you find something that works for you.
Good luck to us all on our weigh loss journeys.

Welcome Mindy, I have to agree that just making a few small changes can have a big impact. As a friend of mine said about weightloss stalls/plateaus 'trust the process' and you will see results.

Since Chicks can be over-whelming at first, I suggest you look for a support group or challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated, find one you like, that fits your needs, and just post to join.

Thanks everyone. I think I may join the section on whole food eating. The book I am reading seems to be about that very topic. Thanks for all of the encouragement everyone. Good luck to you all.

Hey...! We have the same goal!

Hi there! I am 184 lbs and hope to reach 150 as well. Just like you, I would like to fit into size 9's again. I began moving and making better food choices 3 weeks ago. It's been a slow start, but I'm still moving along. What I did was get a new water bottle (orange!) right away and I take it with me everywhere. I thought I could exercise on my own and found I could not. So, I joined Curves and it gives me a place to go and it's working for me.
Good luck and will check on your progress (as you and I have the same goal). :goodvibes
