The scale is my enemy
 

Hey there! I am brand new to this site and looking for some support and motivation. I am at the point in my life where I just feel ICKY (for lack of a better word). I am not severely overweight, but I am not comfortable in my own skin and have recently gained quite a bit of weight (esp in my face, just so everyone can notice) due to medication. Here's my biggest problem- I won't even get on the scale to see how much I weigh b/c I am so fearful of the numbers. I am 5'11", so the numbers are higher anyway due to my height, but I just don't want to see what what the actual number is.

(I'm totally that girl that doesn't even get on the scale the right way at the doctor's office!)

I'm in the exact same... boat! I hate how my face is one of the first places I notice I gain weight. Getting motivated can be hard.... that's why I joined too. I'm a newbie as well :)

It's not the enemy, tis just a very tactless friend :D The numbers do make for a good starting point and helps you focus on a goal but there are soooo many other NSVs that, at least to me, are much more significant. I can definitely relate to the icky feeling and weight in the face. It made my day a few months ago when my 9yo daughter did a double take and asked me where my 'extra chin' went...(tactless child too hehe). You have definitely come to the right place for inspiration and wisdom, best of luck!

lol @ zibsca I can't wait for that day to come. I remember it before and I need these chins to disappear ha! I hate the scale too. It's a love hate relationship. But I will admit I do jump on it from time to time. Maybe I should hide it?
