Fresh meat!

So, first off, it feels a little sacrilege to be typing this out as I am chewing my way through a giant burrito.

I'm 20 and currently a college student. I have always been somewhat chubby since my middle school days. My parents were really busy and we moved around a lot (3 different continents by age 7.) So, my eating habits were always poor, because no one told me what to eat.

My weight has never been a huge issue before, but I've noticed that it has been slowly creeping up on me. I really don't remember when i went from 135lb to 161, which is disturbing to say the least. Ever since then (high school) I have been desperately trying to lose weight, and not really succeeding. Although I've bounced back from every attempt, I am at least thankful for the fact that I've picked up healthy eating habits along the way and learned how to lose weight the healthy (ie not starving) way.

So that takes us to now. I am in my 2nd year at college and planning to enter med school after i graduate. Making that decision made me realize that I needed to take control of every aspect of my life, not just my academic life. I've started once again exercising and eating better, and this time I know it will be successful.

I weighed in at 161 pounds earlier this month. I have been doing an hour of jogging everyday and strength training every other day. I have also been counting those calories! So far I have lost 3 pounds. I am joining 3FC in order to learn from you guys and to join a community that understands all the ups and downs.

My goals are:
1. Maintain steady weight loss
2. Get down to 120 within a year
3. Get my thighs to stop touching!!!
4. Someday be able to not categorize being in a swimsuit as a traumatic experience
