Houston we have a problem

where to start....
I've had to fight that fat since I was a teenager. To be fair I only gained a ridiculous amount of weight then due to being on high dose steroids for a year. And being sick as snot. I lost that weight though with sheer will power and stayed thin or thinner through college and the military. Once I left the military I started gaining. I had bouts of depression and numerous medical problems. I ate the feel better, to feel something. I had our son and decided to try WW, I lost about 15 pounds before life got crazy (I started grad school) and fell off the wagon. I've since tried WW two more times and can't stick with it. Time to acknowledge that WW isn't for me. It's a great program but I can't stick with it. I need structure, I need to be told what to do. Ironically I'm a nurse. I know what to do, but I need to be told how to do it. I have so little time to focus on me right now, I work full time (one job, but it's the job of 4 people), grad school part time, a very active toddler and a marriage I'm trying to keep from falling apart. No wonder I eat so much.
I found these boards because I was researching MRC. I thought it sounded like what I needed. I can't/ won't do things like Jenny Craig or Nurtrisystem, hubby is a damn good cook and if I tell him what I can eat he can make wonders.
If you've read this, thanks. And sorry to bore you!!!!
Jen

Hi Jenkatt! You will like it here, the people are immensely helpful and well educated. Look through the Goal section of the boards for an immediate idea of what others have accomplished. If you're anything like me, you'll almost be ashamed that you thought your goal was so hard.

My immediate piece of advice? Remember that only you can take control of your weight loss and health goals. Only you can decide what to eat and when, when to exercise, how much effort you want to put in to it. You have to figure out a plan that works for you. No one can "make you" eat healthy or adopt healthy changes. But, we sure can help! :)
