Obese chick checking in to say hi
 
Am 40 yo f who is obese but just started a diet with a friend. Trying to stay at 1200 calories a day (the operative word is trying). Need daily motivation, of course. Want to lose, well, lots. Live in Central Valley, California USA and enjoy eating, reading, eating, doing triathlons, playing the Wii, eating, surfing the web, eating, and you get the picture. Happy to have found this forum. Uh, I think I'll go eat something. Will be back. Cheerio!

you do triathalons? That is crazy impressive...

Welcome, you'll find a lot of good support here, browse around and jump right in.

Depending on what your weight is and how much physical activity you do 1200 might be too low for you in terms of calories. It's about the minimum I've seen around here for women and even then it's usually for the ladies that are closer to goal. If it's working for you great, but my guess (without knowing your particulars) is that it might be easier for you to stick with it if you were a bit higher in your calorie target.

As you browse you might find some ladies with similar starting stats to you that have been doing it for a while and ask them what their targets were.
