Smile Newbie looking for Pals... warm weather weight loss time!

Hello. I've really packed on the pounds and am ready to shed the excess weight. I'm in my early 30s, and looking for weight loss pals. I love to do anything outdoors when the weather is nice. Unfortunately I live in Chicago where 5 months out of the year, the weather is not good enough for me to be outdoors. I also love to cook and enjoy cooking meals at home rather than dining out. My biggest weakness occurs when I'm out and about doing errands, or away from home, and the bright flashy fast food signs call my name.

Will you be my friend?

Hello fellow Chicagoan! I know, it's hard around here since it's so chilly most of the time, but that shouldn't stop you!! I can be found on Yahoo if you so happen to have it... or on here! I'm on just about everyday (really, it feels like forever when I miss one day!)

Hi there!

Thanks for replying. It's a beautiful day in the suburbs and I'm about to enjoy a 2 mile walk. I tried doing the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred level 1 today and quit after 15 minutes. I enjoyed this video back in the fall and know from experience to work my way into it. I don't want to be so sore that I'll be unable to move tomorrow.

You are very right that weather should not discourage me from working out. But it does lol. Next winter shouldn't be as bad as I have a week long cruise to look forward to mid-January. That should be the motivation for me to stay in shape!

I love your avatar. Is that your cat? What a cutie!

I have yahoo IM as well.

Looking forward to being buddies with you

That is my fur-baby! I'm out in the NW suburbs. The winter weather makes everything so gloomy and blah, but it helps that we have these forest preserves around to go walk some trails. You can click the little Y! thing beneath my avatar to add me anytime. Just let me know you're from 3FC!

Greetings fellow chicagoens!! I'm also looking for weightloss buddies in my area, I'm pretty thrilled about this forum!!

I am pretty chipper today, since I got my vitab-12 shot!!!

I have that JM dvd, I too found it hard the first time..(Felt like I was ganna die) I would try for a second round if I were you,-you don't have to keep up with them, it's a short work out but you'll really feel it at the end and the next day! Don't give up!

Being in Costa Rica, it's smack-dab in the middle of our summer time, and I'm stuck inside the house for the next 2 months (broken kneecap, sucks!).

I'm relying on diet alone to get down to my target weight by my wedding, July 3. I simply cannot let my soon-to-be-wife take photos on our wedding day next to a chubby hubby

Thank God for wireless internet and laptops!

Hi there!

It's great to hear another Chicago Chick is here. What's a "vitab-12 shot"?

Yes, the JM workout is hard. I did it religiously this past Autumn and know from experience that for me, it would just be better to ease into the workout. I will start from the beginning again tomorrow and hopefully push through until the end. Thanks for your vote of confidence! I just don't want to fall into the "day 2 I'm in so much pain" troubles. I did also walk 2 miles this afternoon.

Where in the Chicago area do you live? Do you use Yahoo IM? It would be great if we could get a group of us Chicago Chicks checking in with each other.

Thanks for replying! Good luck with your goals.

Hello!

Well, honestly I have no compassion for you being "stuck" in Costa Rica, lol. WOW!!!! It must be so nice not to have to deal with frigid weather and snow. With that being said, no matter how nice the weather is outside, with an injury, you truly feel stuck. I hope and pray for you and your recovery. What sort of exercises can you do with a broken kneecap? Can you work on your upper body to burn calories?

Congratulations on your engagement and your July wedding! I wish you all the best and look forward to hearing about your success with your weight goals.

Thank you for replying!

Hi Lita! Nice to meet you

Rule number 1 for the Chicago clan: NO Portillo's or Lou Malnati's!

Done!

I don't have enough posts to be able to link you to our club. It's under the challenge forums. I hope you can find it. I guess you could search my posts under my profile and find it there.
