Chubby girl looking for her Healthy-self

Hello everyone! I have been browsing this forum for a while an decided it was time to introduce myself. Here are some basics about me:

Name: Jess
Age: 23
Weight 270lbs
Goal Weight: 140lbs

Only 5 years ago I was a skinny little thing, but that all changed after I was diagnosed with Lupus. I was on steroids (prednisone) for almost 2 years straight, it changed my weight, metabolism, and worst of all appetite. A year ago I decided to try and lose all of this extra weight, and lost 50 pounds -- bad thing is, I got overconfident and ended up only maintaining the weight loss for 6 months. I have gained all of it back and then some D:

So now I have learned from past mistakes, and I am ready to jump back on that weight loss horse. I am ready to make a lifestyle change and get rid of this weight for good! I just started my new diet today (wish me luck, food is a serious addiction for me), and I hope to start exercising soon.

The only problem with exercising is that I recently fractured my foot, and have to wear a wooden sandal. I am not really sure what to do, since most of my exercising requires me to be on my feet (and sadly I don't have access to a pool). Any suggestions for exercising these next 3 weeks while my foot heals up???

I am open to any advice you have to give, and thanks for letting me be part of this wonderful community

hi!!!

Welcome!

I'm not sure about exercises... the only thing that comes to mind is that 300 year old lady on TV doing chair exercises! Actually that would probably work, since you only would need to do it for three weeks!

good luck!

Hi! Love your avatar!

I would look at isometrics. Just google it. They don't require much movement. I am doing Shapely secrets because of my bad knees and it's completely motionless (but very, very effective :D) and is based on isometrics.

haha yeah sounds like a better idea than my 300 year old lady one

I get problems with my heel now & then. How about strength training or biking?

Welcome Spooky! I'm new here too. I would check with your doc to see if he/she has any recommendations. Food addictions are a struggle but we have to just make the decision to change it and make better choices every day. We are never going to be perfect but just think of how much better you'll feel choosing healthier options. I have a hard time with portion control but am working hard on getting back on track.

Best to you, we can do this!

Angie
