Alright. . . .
So I think I'm ready to put myself out there. . . .
I've been lurking around 3fc for a few months now and I can't even express how inspirational you ladies have been. . . . You've helped me through some rough moments and I give you a big THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for that :) I've been a bigger girl my whole life. I have ALWAYS been bigger than all of my friends. Despite that, I was very athletic up until about 6 years ago. Even at a size 14-16 throughout high school I played sports and held my own on the basketball court :) I was not small to start with, and then my life did a big 180. Saddly, I gained at least 60 pounds within a few years (beyond the size 16 I was wearing). I have no excuse for it. I didn't exercise and I ate a lot of junk (I convinced myself that I ate healthy food, but I was SOOOO wrong) I finally had my moment that changed it all this year right before I was going to Lollapalooza, a big music festival in Chicago. Our hotel was about 2 miles from the park and my friends said we should walk there and back every day. I knew how out of shape I was, and knew I couldn't handle that plus an all day music festival on my feet. I think that was the first time I realized how much my weight prevented OTHER PEOPLE from doing what they want to do. It had stopped ME before, but I convinced myself that it didn't affect others. I started working out before that fateful concert this year. I don't know if I lost any weight by that point, but I was able to walk the long walk there and back (my feet hurt like crazy by the end of the third day, I had to sit while a great band was on). I started my journey in August this year not knowing what i was going to do. I found 3fc in around November and this place has helped me greatly. At my half way point (January-ish??) , I hit a big wall and weighed in right between 203-199 for about two months. I probably would have quit if I didn't read the inspirational stories here. Happy to say that I weighed in around 192 today. . . I have a long way to go, but I don't know if if I would have made it this far without you!! THANK YOU!!!!! |
lizzybeth81, sounds like you are on the right track. Congrats for making it to 192. Keep up the hard work and drink alot of water. I also use to eat alot of junk food. I no longer keep anything that is in a bag in my house!!
