Hi Newbie signing in

Hi everyone I'm Lilja and I'm new.

I'm starting my new life tomorrow (February 1). I'm hoping that being active on this form (witch I just found) will help me stay motivated in my new lifestyle change. I have always had the problem of giving up and falling back into bad habits.
I've been overweight since around 14yrs. (I'm turning 26yrs. in april) but only recently have I gone over to the Obesity on the bmi scale. That is my trigger (this time) to get healthy again.

So nice to meet you all and I hope to get to know you all a lot better :)

p.s feel free to correct my spelling and grammar English is not my first language and being told what I do wrong is the only way I learn :D

:wel3fc: Hi Lilja!
You're doing great, no worries about your English - sounds like you're ready to get started - how smart to make your focus health and not just a diet or a number - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them. Try the 20 somethings and the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a definite must for motivation.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired! :df:

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee

Thank you for your welcomes.

Today went very well I actually wanted to exercise more than the 20 minutes I did but decided that it's better to start small and feel better tomorrow than to over do it and have muscle cramps and give up.

I really never knew you feel so happy after you exercise. I've been happier today than I was all last year :)

Welcome, I totally agree with your entire post.

For me, I prefer working out as hard as I can without getting to the point of exhaustion or significant soreness since that demotivates me to return to the gym the next day.

I also am amazed by how much better exercise makes me feel (even before I started to lose weight). It makes me sad how much I, and others, avoided it.
