I'm finally getting on the bandwagon!

Hello all!
Can I just say how excited I am to find this community?? I think this could really be my push to get into shape. I finally hit my breaking point yesterday when I stood on the scale and almost cried. This isn't the most I have weighed, but it's certainly not where I want to be.

Yesterday I decided to go back on weight watchers - although I am not going to meetings or paying for it. I've been on the program before and know how it all works. Since we are a community and I am counting on you all to keep me in check, my stats: height: 5'8, starting weight: 150.8, current (as of this morning): 148.8, goal weight: 135

If anyone has any advice on how to stay motivated, I would really appreciate it. My issue is that I am unemployed and have become so lethargic sitting around looking for jobs and watching re-runs! All of my friends and family live at least 1/2 hour away so it's not easy to get together and work out.

:wel3fc: Hi onthewagon!
I can certainly relate to the added challenge of being laid off - but it sounds like you're on track with a good plan - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired. Try the 20 somethings and the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a definite must for motivation. Check out the Weight Watchers forum here too - there's lots of people doing it without going to meetings.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired! :df:

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee

Hi there! Good to have you on board.

Hope you can find all the encouragement and support you need!

Earlier this week I heard a person talk about motivation, something to the affect of motivation being overrated. That reminded me of the time I told my daughter to do cleaning and she ask, "What's the motivation?":dizzy:

I find it's easier for me to exercise than eat correctly. I don't know if your the same way.

There are 2 web sites I use for exercise. The first one I use for walking. It can be use if you bike or run also. You can find it by doing a search on-Tools to Keep You Active- It's a free government funded program. I "walk" with my daughter along with some people I chose from their list of people. You can track your progress as you walk across the US. You can also look at pictures of where you are.

The other one I found on here. You can find it by doing a search on-100 push up challenge-. Sounds a little daunting- that's why I have my son and daughter doing it with me-Misery loves company! We just finished week one and didn't feel like I was run over by a Mac truck. :)

Last I do sit ups. I started with 10-5x a week. I'm up to 20-5x a week. I made a chart for both the sit ups and push ups. I like to see my progress.

I hope your able to find a program that's a good fit for you. Do take the time to make yourself a priority. You don't have far till your at your goal!

Be good to you! Joy
