Heyyyyyyyyyy!!
I joined this forum couple months ago looked around and said I will be around for awhile... I never came back until today :D
I'm a 21yr old university student from the VI. The past few years I sorta lost control of everything in my life along with my weight. I've always been a bit "thick" but not overweight like this (I was very active playing volleyball basketball soccer and softball). Once I got a job during my sophomore year, I worked from 7:30 in the morning until about 4:00 and then I would head to class until the night. Got home around 8:00 ish or later everyday. I devoped bad eating habits. Soooo I quit my job in June... Slowly started getting my life together. Went away for a month and lost weight. Joined a gym in October and recently got a trainer. I'm currently at 215 and hope to get down to 145. I'm giving myself a time frame of about two years. Just wanted to do a quick (okay it wasnt that quick) intro to myself with hopes that I will meet new friends ;) so Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy |
:wel3fc: Hi WonderWoman!
Sounds like you're back on track with the time and determination to get it done - the support you need is here to get through the ups and downs - we'll all be here to cheer you on.. Glad to have you back with us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired. Try the 20 somethings and the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a definite must for motivation. There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way. I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far. So welcome back - you're in the right place - jump right back in by inspiring us and being inspired! :df: All the best - good luck with your goals, Lee |
Hiya, Lee. You're so smart to have started "living right" at so young an age. Too many of us (okay, I'm talking about myself here) let things so way way too long.
I think we have to make this forum (or some simliar 'support group') a regular part of our new way of eating/living == just as we do exercise. It sometimes takes the same discipline, but it's so important to know you're not alone. Just curious, what kind of workouts are you doing at the gym? Barbara, in Oregon |
Hi Barbara!!
Thanks!! Reading this forum yesterday I got extremely motivated and knew I can do it :D I do cardio for a half hour (treadmill at 15.0 incline & speed of 2.5). Sometimes I do 15 minutes on the treadmill and 15 minutes on the elliptical. My trainer has me lifting weights and using various machines targeting certain body parts. I've been doing exercises for my back, arms, and shoulders. And at the end I do some exercises for my lower body. |
