hello from Chubbyteenmom

Hello ;) Hello!!!

I am so excited to have joined the forum! Let me give you some insight on my weightgain-and hopefully weight LOSS journey!!!

I am 20 years old, and the mother of a beautiful 1 year old boy (Maverick). While I was pregnant for my first child, the boy left me,and i was left to be a single mom. I only gained 23 pounds the entire pregnancy, making it extremely easy to lose the weight. Then I met a great man, and we married in October. Before the wedding,I became pregnant which we were SUPER excited about. Then,at 5 months of pregnancy, i went into early labor forcing our beautiful daughter(pheonix) to be born early and ultimately not surviving the trauma. So here it is - a month later and i'm interested in losing the 10 or so pounds I gained through the 5 months (and a little extra). I want to lose weight, and feel sexy, and back to my old self. Did I mention i'm also a college student, and substitute teach....leaving barely any time to workout, but i'm doing it!!
I went through a point of depression after the labor and became incredibly dependant on coffee, to keep me up after long sleepless nights of crying. So now i'm kicking my intense coffee(with lots of sugar/milk) habbit, an dstarting a weight loss program. I am excited to have this support to goto. Can't wait to "meet" everyone. :)

P.S. - My husband also rides a motorcycle and we goto "biker rallies" and "poker runs" quite often.....i want leather pants and vest!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol.

So sorry about your loss but you seem to have a fabulous attitude. Glad to have you here. I used to substitute teach too and a good way to sneak in some exercise (if you are at the elementary levels) is to go out with the kids at recess and P.E. to do calestenics with them. If you are in the higher grades, bring your shorts and walk the track after school. Also, see if your school district has gym privelages for staff members.

Thanks for the advice!! Yeah, once i played kickball with a group of 5th graders, and got so out of breath that a young boy asked me if i was okay? hahahah. But you're right! Perfect way to fit some exercise in!

:wel3fc: Hi teenmom!
You sound like a busy girl with a lovely family (Maverick is precious) - I have every confidence that you will achieve your goal, you have faced bigger challenges than this and have kept on going - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on..

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired. Try the 20 somethings and weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a definite must for motivation. Maybe check out the biker chicks thread too.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired! :df:

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee
