And haven't bothered to introduce myself even though I have been posting in different forums. So, I decided it was time to be posting here (although my 3FC blog is pretty darn open about me).

I'm a yo-yo'er with the awful (to me) twist that I'm also a physician who is very aware of all the benefits of a healthy life style - and I once led one. I also did health behavior research focusing on women. So I know what it takes to eat healthy and be physically active - but knowing and doing...

I am determined for this to be my last attempt because it will result in long term life style changes that I intend to maintain with the help of my partner of almost 20 years, family, friends, and a lot of social support, which is why I am here.

Welcome to YoYo Central -how true, knowing and doing - we could all write books on the subject but the key to success may lie in making the priority health and not just a diet or a number - the support and accountability you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them - especially as a physician going through the same struggles as many of us here. Browse around and click on whatever catches your eye - but the Success stories are a definite must for motivation.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.
