New fat biker chick!!
Hi. I'm new to the site, but love it already! I'm really not liking the scale threatening me to start my weight with a 3! I HAVE to get the weight down. I huff and puff, can't sleep, can't breathe, can't fit in booths good...and worst of all...I can't find a woman's leather motorcycle jacket to fit my big size! Okay, so that's not the worst part, but it doesn't help! Parents both have heart problems, 1 diabetic. It's not looking good for me unless I can get a grip on this weight, ideally, dropping in half.
 |
Welcome from another biker chick! Let me invite you to join our thread "hawt" or it maybe "hawter" biker chicks.... it is here on 3fc.
I started out close to your weight.... althought I am a smidge taller. You can absolutely do this! And, it won't be too long before you can find a leather jacket to fit..... so, who cares what the scales say (even though that is hard advise to swallow), work towards getting in that jacket, then work at some hawt chaps, then before you know it...... you are an even hawter biker chick than you are now! Feel free to PM me if you want (when you are able to). Also, my email is my login at yahoo.com. Welcome aboard, you have picked a great site. Tammy |
I miss quoted the biker chick thread. It is HAWT-est biker chicks.
I forgot to formally introduce myself (guess I was excited to see you here). I am Tammy. I ride a 2009 Dyna Super Glide. I just got married, in fact we rode our motorcycles to Vegas and got married on them. That was the motivational point for my losing weight.... not really the wedding, but my son bet me I could not lose 65 pounds by the time my fiance and I got married. I smoked him.... and I got married. I look forward to hearing from you. Tammy |
Welcome! I am glad you are joining us.
I wish you the best on your weight loss journey! Cheers, J |
:wel3fc: Hi 2Times2Much!
Sounds like you're ready to get started - just take it a step at a time, small changes can lead to big results - the support you need is here to achieve your goal of a healthier and happier you - we'll all be here to cheer you on. Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them. Try the 100 lb club and the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a definite must for motivation. LadyRider gave you the biker thread to check out. There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way. I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far. So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired! :df: All the best - good luck with your goals, Lee |
Howdy
Welcome to the forums, 2times2much. So glad you joined. Except for wanting to find a women's leather motorcycle jacket, I started out much the same as you. Now I only huff and puff when I'm at the gym, can't sleep when I'm sick (like right now), and can't breathe when I'm trying to catch my breathe from jogging. You made the right choice by joining. This is such a great community. Best wishes on reaching your weight loss goal. :goodluck:

Awesome reponses!
This is great! Not only do I love feedback. (I'm a Facebook junkie!) I had an absolute great time reading posts last night. I was so busy, I didn't even have time to think about food! This could be addicting!
Thank you all, so far, for the encouraging words, and suggestions. I do love adventure. I ride a Kawasaki 900 Vulcan Classic. Last summer we went from Wisconsin to Tennesse, and rode the Tail of the Dragon, in the rain! Was a great time though. My husband drives truck, and is home only on the weekends. I have the whole week to eat if I can't find something constructive to do. I know...I also have the whole week to exercise right! So much easier to veg out in front of the TV with some velvety mac and cheese! Last night VEGETABLE soup instead of VEGing out!! LOL! Thank you all. Talk to you again soon. I joined the biker chick board too. :) |
Wow, Dragon's Tail in the rain.... how impressive.
I am glad you found this site as well. There are many encouraging stories on here to help. I read some of the maintainers stories when I am feeling stressed or I am having a pity party b/c the scale did not move like I thought it should. Tammy |
Hello!
Couldn't resist replying as (a) your stats are very close to mine and (b) I wish I was a biker like you! My hubby refuses to take me pillion as he says he'll end up doing the world's longest wheelie if I sit on the back of his bike (yeah, thanks!). I did my basic training last year when I was a bit smaller and... ahem... messed up - after two days training I managed to drop the bike on my leg at a junction and burnt a couple of layers of skin off, ouch. So I gave up temporarily. Maybe I'll have the confidence to try again when I lose a bit of weight... or maybe I'm just safest watching!!! Cheers QoS |
I would love to "buddy" with someone if you are interested. I've been lucky on the bikes. 2 years ago we rode to Michigans Upper Penisula. I was a new rider, and was the only one in our group that didn't either get in an accident or lay their bike down. Made me proud! Don't give up on riding--just try it at YOUR speed. It helped me to follow my husband. It made me self concious when he was following me, because he could see all of my mistakes. I did better, and built up confidence. If losing weight was that easy...I wish.

Queen, I agree with 2times2much about riding in front of your DH. My DH used to want me to ride in the front b/c they say newer riders should ride in front, but I would not.... just for the reason that 2times said. It made me a NERVOUS wreck.
Just take your time and go your speed until you build up confidence. 2times, I would soooooo have pointed out the fact that you were the only person who did not drop (knock on wood). I am not sure at what point you get to PM.... but when you do, just yell at me and I wouldn't mind to buddy up. Btw, I am not sure what WL program either of you are on.... and it is not like I created a whole new meal..... but I just had an incredible dinner. I don't care much for bland veggies, so I am always looking for ways to spice them up (or get them down). I just made spaghetti (with high fiber spaghetti) and I layered my veggies with it. I put a layer of California mix veggies on the bottom, then the spaghetti and sauce (with ground turkey), then more veggies with a sprinkle of parmasean (?sp) cheese... It was AWESOME! And oh so filling! I ate a 1.5 cup bowl of it and i was stuffed. Just thought I would pass this on. Not like I am a chef or anything, just an idea. I hope you have a good night. |
Welcome 2times2much, you will just love this site it is full of great information and great people-
I am most CC on here well HAWT-est biker Chicks I to ride my own bike and reading your posts you have done some awesome and impressive rides - my bike has also been my motivation for losing weight Do you ever get to make it to Sturgis? How about the Flood Runs they have along the MN - WI border? Men they do always want you to ride in front of them so they can keep an eye on you but I was the same I was NOT riding in front of him and still to this day not very often do I ride in front of him, it still makes me nervous even though I have been riding my own bike for 10 years..... Tammy your spaghetti dinner sounds really good :) |
Any kind of pasta sounds wonderful! Hiding some vegetables in there isn't a bad idea! I've made a big batch of vegetable soup (I use the Sacred Heart recipe, altered a bit to include more types of veggies) to get me through this week. I have an eliptical machine, that I insisted I would use, collecting dust. I was back on the last 2 nights. Sounds crazy but I'm worn out after 5 minutes. My plan is to increase 1 minute a day, up to 30. I'm seeing some instant results on the scale...I like that! Some of you look like you have come a loooong ways losing weight! Congratulations so far! We have never made it to Sturgis. In time, I'm sure we will. 1 big trip a year.
Thanks again for your support. I know I'm gonna love this! Colleen |
