I have always enjoyed reading this website, however today I finally decided to put myself out there and join. I hope that I will receive the much needed support to complete my weight loss goals. Here is my story .......

I am a 32 year old female who is married no children, but two wonderful dogs. Three years ago I weighed 210 pound I successfully managed to lose 70 pounds with good old fashion exercise and diet. I was able to maintain a weight of 140 with somewhat watching my diet and consistent running. However, since September 2009 I have been packing on the pounds because of stress(full time job & grad school), lack of exercise and out of control eating. I continued to eat like a maniac over the holidays. Needless to say I was not particulary surprised when I got on the scale this morning and I saw a whopping 171 looking at me. Join me on my journey as I attempt to lose 51 pounds to bring me to my goal weight of 120.

:wel3fc: Hi missjkd!
Maintaining seems to be even harder than losing for many of us -no looking back, no beating yourself up, just moving forward - you know you can do this but you already have - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired. There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired! :df:

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee
