Newbie from midwest!

Hi! I am new here. From Indiana. I am currently around 185 (not super sure...haven't weighed myself in awhile) and I stand at almost 5'8" (5'7.5") You can call me Sarah, well....cause thats my name. haha. Weight has always been a struggle for me and I have recently overcome a long bought of depression. Sadly, me being happy means I eat more. Before I weigh too much I would like to get the best of my weight before it gets the best of me. This time last year I weighed about 155 so a 30 pound gain in a year is scary :( I hope to find the support I need to lose my weight in a healthy way! :) :carrot:

Edit: Weighed myself. I am 182. I was close. lol. BTW I am 22 and a senior in college :)

:wel3fc: Hi Sarah!
How smart to address those extra pounds now before they become any more of a challenge - making tyour health a priority is the right approach, for sure - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired. There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help get through the ups and downs. The 20 somethings forum might be of interest to you - you would also be a great addition to the depression forum by helping and giving support to others with that challenge.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired! :df:

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee
