Mother of One...Starting Out...Need help with Compulsive Eating
I have a wonderful daughter and lord knows I don't want her to suffer with what I've got going on, so I've got to change so that she doesn't see me suffer with it when she's old enough to understand. Not to mention we want to have another baby next year, and I need to lose weight before I get pregnant again. The crazy thing was that when I was pregnant, I actually lost weight and was thinner than I had been in years. My gain the whole pregnancy was only 9 pounds and my daughter weighed nearly 8! I don't get it...
My biggest issue now is the compulsive eating. I don't know what it's like to feel hungry. I'm never hungry. I eat all the time. Just today I ate an entire box of cookies. That's like 40 cookies. In one day. I'm a grazer. I eat here and there so it doesn't feel like a lot at once, but at it up and it's a lot! I just need help. I suck at the dieting thing and the exercise thing. I will be telling myself I don't need to eat like this while I'm eating pie! Help! |
:wel3fc: Hi Debra
Many here have been (or are) where you are now and understand your feelings of frustration and being overwhelmed -no looking back, no beating yourself up, just moving forward a step at a time, getting through each day better than you did the day before - you can do this - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on. Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired. There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help choose the right ones for you and get through the ups and downs. There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way. I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up. So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired! :df: All the best from a fellow WhoDat- good luck with your goals, Lee :tree: Happy Holidays! :newyear: |
Welcome to 3FC and good luck with your goals.
