back to this weight again?!?!

Hi, everyone!
Two years ago August, I weighed just over 200 lbs. That caused me to want to lose weight, especially since I was getting married in Feb 2008. I joined Weight Watchers, worked hard, and lost 28 lbs for my wedding. After my honeymoon, I got complacent and started putting it back on. This past spring, I was back at 195 and so I joined Weight Watchers again to drop the weight by my sister in laws wedding. It didn't happen. I convinced myself it was because I wasn't exercising enough, and it had nothing to do with the fact that I wasn't eating right. So my husband and I joined a gym. I haven't lost a lb. I'm still at 195. I needed something new to motivate me and get me back on track. And I found this forum. Reading some of your inspiring stories, I think this is exactly what I need to motivate myself back on track.

Thank you for sharing, and I look forward to getting to know you during my weight loss journey!

Nicki

Nicki - I know how you feel! Lost 30 lbs on Weight Watchers in 3 months and my 2nd attempt at Weight Watchers didn't go well at all. You'll need to find a good balance between watching your food intake and burning calories in the gym.

You can do it! :D

:welcome: NICKY ~ many people have had great successs with calorie counting and their is a forum here for that. You can use FITDAY.com to track the food for you, if you want. The key is to find the right total calorie amount (ie 1800 calories), then write or track what you eat each day: that will help you see where you can make improvements.

There are lots of people who can give you some tips and lots of support here. Best wishes on your renewed journey to good health ...

I too did WW in 2004 and lost 20lbs w/in 2months...then over 3 yrs, slowly gained it all back PLUS 10...tried WW again...but it didn't work so well...lost only about 10lbs in 8months...I have now been counting calories and have lost almost 15lbs since September...CC is basically the same as WW, but for some reason, it worked better for me...another poster on another forum suggested FreeDieting.com and click "Daily Calorie Needs" on the left...type in your stats and it will give you what you should be eating....there are a ton of these types of calculators out there...i did a few different ones and most said around the same amount...good luck & check out this site a few times a day...i know it definitely helped me get motivated!!!

This weight again?

Nicki,

I know how you feel about going back up to a weight! Several years ago I had a car wreck that left me sixty pounds heavier. After three months of sitting in a chair I could walk again, but was now doing physical therapy with sixty extra pounds. I got back down to nearly 150 lbs. Now, eight years later, I'm working a FABULOUS job..... sitting at a desk. I currently weight more than I've ever weighed in my life. I'm ashamed of how I look, sick to death of how I feel, and just ready to get moving again! I don't know where I'm going to find motivation, but I'm going to find it somewhere! I won't look like this next Christmas! If there's anything that I can do, just drop me a line. I wish you the best of luck and truly believe you CAN do this! :)

:wel3fc: Hi Nicki!
There"s many of us who know how you feel - lost the weight then gained it back ( & more) -sounds like you're back on track and ready to do this - no looking back, no beating yourself up, just moving forward - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired! :df:

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee

:tree:Happy Holidays!
