Smile Old Me/Now Me/Future Me

I'm not so far from the Old Me yet, and its probably mostly water weight that I've lost, but I found this site from another link I love and immediately added it to my bookmarks list! I love love love reading the suggestions you (soon to be we) give each other, and the really lovely support that is shown. I've only tried a smattering of diets but I wouldn't call myself a yo-yo dieter. I'm definitely a stress-eater and also recently diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. I need to change my lifestyle and am hoping that your suggestions will make the change easier to bear. Thanks for any responses or suggestions to come.

Welcome Moss! I'm sure you will find lots of support and encouragement here at 3FC! Like you, I have always been a yo-yo dieter. The thing that has really helped me is finally realizing that I can't just go on a diet because as soon as I go off that diet, the weight comes back on...plus some. I had to make a lifestyle change. Something that I knew I could do for the rest of my life...and it's working! Good luck with your goals! We're all in it together!

welcome moss, sorry about the new dx, but you can usually completely control it with healthy food and exercise! I'm a stress eater too. Don't be afraid to come to the "chicks in control" section if you need some help averting a stress binge.

Hi Moss!
Sounds like you're off to a good start - congrats on your success so far - the support you need is here.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help choose the right ones for you and get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee

Welcome!

Try eating lesser sized meals. Doing yo-yo diets will only make you more stressful. Since the weight does come back on.

Welcome, Moss! I am an inch taller than you and have the same final goal of 180, so we're traveling very similar paths. I look forward to seeing you around and hearing about your successful journey!
