New Year, New Me!

Hi I'm Sal, 25 from the UK and new here.
I joined up in the hope i'll be more motivated to keep up with my good intentions when i'm faced with cake!
I'm still to set my goals and think about things properly but i'm hoping this will be the prompt i need to make 2010 my best year ever. :D
I've always been overweight and hope i can find some new ways of thinking to take myself in the right direction here!
Nice to meet you all and good luck with your weight loss!

:wel3fc: Hi Sal!
Sounds like you're ready to get started and make 2010 your best year ever - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to see you through!

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help choose the right ones for you and get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired! :df:

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee

arriving early

Great idea to start dieting/eating clean prior to the New Year when the entire world will be making resolutions. We won't have to. We will have already begun and be well on the way to lifestyle changes. Let's get to that dance early!

Mini-goal for me: no weight GAIN in the holiday season this year. I WILL succeed. As Yoda said, "Do or do not; there is no try."

Broccoligirl, I'm with you- no weight gain over the holidays! They say that the average person gains from 7-12 pounds from Thanksgiving to New Year's. Not gaining is like a loss in itself! :)

Welcome!!

& Good luck with your goal :)

Starting your program before the holidays is a great idea. Who wants to put another few pounds which only makes the goal that much farther away. I'm putting on the Christmas dinner this year and am already planning how to have things that I can eat and enjoy without piling on the pounds. Best of luck to you!
