Hi!! Hope this works!!!!

  • Hi everyone,

    So, I've been wanting to lose a stubborn and unflattering 10-15 lbs for the past 8 years or so... and finally I decided maybe venting a bit in a community such as this one will help. I know that my weight loss goal is not huge, and its more about looks than health, but I still feel very down on myself when I do not budge on the scale even though I exercise A LOT. It's the eating... I eat healthy, but I eat a good amount. The in-between meal snacks is really what gets me. So I'm here to try out this blogging/forum thing to see if I can get some support in suppressing that weird urge to eat more than I need!

    My main issue is: I feel deprived if I don't eat something I want to eat. I feel emotionally upset, like I deserve it. When eating something I don't really need, I somehow totally justify it in my head. But then later, I feel guilty and think "Why did I eat that???"

    I'm sure you've heard this story before!
  • Hey i'm new too!! I feel ya. To me the purpose of my life right now, at this moment, is to obtain my dreams. I'm working on 40lbs which to me is a hefty amount, but in my mind that's the next step. Get off those unwanted lbs and hit that beach. Once I'm there I know I can then work on other aspects of my life but for now this is it. Get tone, pack on some muscle, and then after i lose the weight i can work on other areas. Your 10 - 15 lbs is not vein. If that's what makes you happy!!
  • Hello there!! I recently re - committed to weight loss as well. I've got a much bigger goal than yours, but this site has a huge amount of information and support for ANYONE that wants to lose weight! I would recommend you go to the Featherweights support group, its the people on this site who have smaller goals in mind. It has recipes, chats , challenges etc that you can join in. For me the support groups are what keep me coming back and keep me on track. You can do this!

    So many here can relate to how you feel no matter how much we each need to lose - the support you need is here!

    Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help get through the ups and downs.

    There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

    I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

    So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!
