Hello All...

Hello...

I am back and need all the help and encouragement I can get. I am struggling with my weight and fantasize about what life would be like if I were thin. Please help me find the motivation and commitment to myself and direct me on how to navigate this site. I have a large amount of weight to lose and have been this way for some time. I have PCOS and medicated with metformin, only in the past 2 months. I know it is supposed to help but I havent given myself a chance. Please help...

:welcome: back, SG ~ that's an interesting moniker; does it have a special meaning? Or do you have a nickname that we could call you? In the Dieting with Obstacles forum, there are threads at the top of the page for both Diabetes (and that includes pre-diabetes and metabolic syndrome), and PCOS as well.

If you have any other interests, there are many forums and countless threads covering a wide range of topics. Have you decided on a plan yet; there are many discussed here, or you could create one of your own. Some of the best tips I can give you is to make a committment to yourself to look after your health again; as far as motivation -- you could probably make a whole list of things that you hope to achieve through this journey; and they can be your motivators.

Also, I find tracking or writing down what I am eating to be extremely helpful; many others do too. Planning what you are going to eat each day and week is very important -- it helps you stay on plan (OP) as well.

Glad you came back and hope to see you around the threads ... and often!

:wel3fc: Hi SpiritualGiant!
Many here can relate to your struggle and your desire to be healthy and happy - the support you need is here - good luck with your goals - we'll all be here to cheer you on!

Glad to have you back with us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! I like that there's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome back- you're in the right place - jump back in by inspiring us and being inspired! :df:

P.S. The other poster (rosebud) was referring to your online name "SpiritualGiant".
